Independent Jewelry Appraiser

Welcome!

As an independent small business owner, with an extensive trade background in sourcing, selling, managing and appraising within the local jewelry market since 2008, I am thrilled to now offer confidential, while-you-wait examinations of your jewelry and, when appropriate, next-day completed jewelry appraisals.

A Certified Member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA), I am also an American Society of Appraisers (ASA) Ally Member, and compliant with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).

Jewelry appraisals can be a confusing topic, feel free to call me with questions or to schedule an appointment.

I look forward to working with you!

The Appraisal Process

Before you arrive, we'll discuss your jewelry items, decide what type of appraisal best suits your needs, and I'll estimate the time and cost you might expect.

When you arrive with your jewelry, we'll go over any remaining questions or concerns you might have. I'll then take the time needed to inspect your pieces for internal inclusions and external chips and blemishes, weights and measurements, material makeup and markings, identify gemstones and metals, their natural or synthetic origin, provenance and/or period, color and clarity grade all stones, plot and reliably screen diamonds for possible lab creations or simulants with a GIA iD100 gem testing device, and photograph details of each piece.

You can decide whether to wait while I examine your jewelry, or explore the Custom's House Museum, local shops and amazing restaurants within a couple of blocks of The Press Building. I love to offer recommendations of nearby things to do but, whatever you decide, your jewelry will return home with you the same day!

All appraisal values require research to complete. Certain pieces will require extra time. All will make use of not only market data sources, such as the Rapaport live diamond tradescreen, GemGuide price lists, and market costs, but in the majority of cases will also integrate data from several relevant market comparables. Depending on the number and complexity of your pieces, you may receive your completed appraisals through your own secure, private portal the next day. Your portal will allow you to easily and safely store, print, and forward your appraisals onto your insurance agent, family members, or attorney.

India was super awesome! I somehow double booked her and another appointment, which she graciously allowed me to take while she diligently worked. Her cozy office was very inviting and the vibe of the building was total relaxation.
